Project Reflection

Overall I have never been happier with a project as I am with this. Although it took time I was able to complete every component of my project to its fullest potential. I really loved the idea of having a music video as my portfolio project because it is what I want to do in the future. This project was a massive learning experience. It taught me everything I needed to make a campaign for an artist. Alan loved everything and is posting everything to push his rap career forwards. It not only taught me how to make a campaign but also networking. When I started this project Alan and I had only seen each other at parties and school functions. After meeting him and talking about working together he was excited and completely on board. The project taught me that making connections creates many opportunities and that is something I will keep in mind as I further my career in film.
Personally I liked the Woah Woah music video. I thought it was good considering what I had to work with.  I think the cinematography was simple but it did have some unique shots like the long range zoom ins. More B roll  would have made the video better but I still like it the way it is now. I really liked the titles over the film burn clip, those were the first graphics I have ever created on illustrator and I think they came out well.
I really liked my digipack. I have never created one and I don't think I ever will again. But it showed me how to design a track cover and how to put pictures together well on photoshop.
I was very proud of my website more than anything. I had never made one before and I was honestly putting it off because I was scared to try. After learning how to make it and putting things together I loved how it looked. I think its easy to navigate around and gives visitors a good overview of Alan as an artist.
This project was a learning experience. I consider this video and project to be the start of something new. I loved making this and I plan to continue making more for Alan and other artists in Broward County.  Im surprised to say that I will miss these projects in college, they helped me get to where I am today and Im thankful for that

Promo...

A short post.
Now that the video and photoshoot for Woah Woah are done, I decided to go ahead and start promoting it. I sent Alan a few pictures to post, as soon as he posted, I posted some other pictures.
This is Alan's post from the photoshoot for Woah Woah.

This is my post for the promotion of the video. I posted a picture from the photoshoot and captioned the post 4/20, meaning the release date of the video.

These posts were on my instagram story. One is a behind the scenes picture to show that we are making something, the others are still frames from the video to give viewers a sneak peek.
Can't wait for everyone to see it!

Creating my website

Something I have dreaded since I heard I had to make it. An area that I've never set foot on. Something completely new.

Creating a website. It's time.

I began creating my website on wix and it is a lot harder than I thought. I think it is definitely because it is my first time making a website, however I'm working my way around everything and getting things done slowly. My goal is to really make this a useful platform for Alan to continue using as he makes more music, so the website goes beyond promoting just Woah Woah. I decided I would make four main pages, A front page, a music page, a videos page, and an about page.
To grant access to all of Alans music throughout a variety of platforms, I also included a social media platform bar on the right side of the front page.
Apart from posting Woah Woah on the website, I also put 2 other songs so viewers can listen to more than one song when looking at his website.
The more I used wix the easier it became to move things around. My videos page was originally a TOUR page with a section that showed tour dates and locations. I changed this page to a video page and linked the Woah Woah music video to it.
I'm slowly making more progress on it and should have it ready by tonight. Til the next one.

WOAH WOAH PRODUCTION!!!!!!!!

AYOOOOOOOOOOOOO
WE DID IT
WE FILMED WOAH WOAH

The shoot went great!!!
In about 3 hours we filmed the entire video for Woah Woah. Everything went smooth and there were zero major issues that slowed us down. Just like last year, we got rained out the first half of the day and we shot a little later. We still had sunlight and it wasn't horribly cloudy so the footage didn't come out bad. Here are some behind the scenes pictures:

The video was shot with Alan and two of his friends, Caleb Singer and Sebastian Rojas. Everyone was extremely cooperative and patient while we were between shots and setting up. We for the video I used a few different lenses to shoot everything. For my long distance shots I used a Canon 75-300 MM lens, For my shots closer up I used a 35 MM lens and for my main wide shot I used my 16-35 MM lens. I switched off between my tripod, my stabilizer for my shots apart from a few hand held shots.
I now have my photoshoot and production for my music video done. I'm going to start editing tonight and I will finish my digipack and website after I finish editing the video.
Til then.

Digipack progress

I began working on my digipack and although I haven't thrown the pictures in yet, I made some titles and got all of the necessary graphics to include in my digipack.
I will be using Adobe photoshop to put my digipack together, and Adobe Illustrator to create the titles that will be used.

These are two titles that I made for my digipack, they are both fairly large and will draw attention to specific areas so I will most likely use just one of these graphics.

This is a graphic of the lyrics to woah woah. This is gonna be on the panel next to the CD so listeners can rap along with Alan while the song plays in your 1880 CD player.

These are only the graphics and I hope to incorporate them in their original colors to the digipack pictures.
Til next time
